Description
Approved by Illinois Early Intervention Training Project for partial credit:
- 2.5 hours in Working with Families
The families of children served by early childhood professionals experience their own unique journeys. As service providers, it is imperative that professionals build and maintain positive relationships with children and their families. A team approach with open, effective communication is necessary to prioritize needs, establish goals, and implement strategies for optimal success.
Professionals need to support children and families through daily challenges in a cohesive and integrated manner. Participants will review learning principles designed to support identified strategies, adaptations, and goals. A strengths-based coaching model encouraging mutual support will be discussed to help the child, family, and team coordinate responsibilities to help the child become successful at school, in the community, and at home.
