Description

Participants will discover how young children learn from screen-based devices, explore what features make learning from screens difficult for young children, and utilize a balanced approach to integrating technology tools in the classroom. (1.5 PD hours)

  • Apply the latest research on children’s technology use to their pedagogy
  • Evaluate and select appropriate digital media content for young children
  • Communicate with families information about appropriateness and quality of digital media use for young children
  • Strategize developmentally appropriate ways to use technology to connect with students virtually

Jenna Herdzina, MS, is the Program Manager of the TEC Center at Erikson Institute and co-author of the Media Literacy in Early Childhood Report. As Program Manager, Jenna empowers early childhood educators to make informed decisions about the appropriate use of technology and media with young children.
